As we stretch further and further into the renewed life cycle of the Nike Zoom Vomero 5, creatives at Beaverton seem more willing to get experimental with the Y2K runner. It’s hard to change up the formula more than they have with the latest edition, an absolute drenching of the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 in “Racer Blue.”
Given how neutral shades and metallic notes is the default layout, this pair very much goes off the beaten path. “Racer Blue” is comprehensive from tongue to toe, only slightly tinted on rear sections of the outsole. So as not to make itself unrecognizable, the Vomero 5 holds onto “dad shoe” design through the graphic overlays that branch across leather panels, as well as the chromed-out reflective Swoosh that centers the design on the lateral side.
Given how the stream of “new” Y2K looks for the model seemed unending in recent months, this shoe is a breath of fresh air, charting forward some new territory for the silo and hopefully extending its trendy dominance even further. The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 “Racer Blue” is expected to materialize in the coming weeks with a $160 MSRP. Get a closer look via official photos just below.
Staying in Oregon, the Nike Pegasus 41 arrives this Summer with a blend of Nike’s latest running technologies.
