New Balance Crafts A London-Exclusive 991v2 Ahead Of The Marathon

The New Balance 991v2 has enjoyed a fruitful early career since its debut late last year. While many of its initial editions came in collaborative fashion, a ton of buzz has surrounded each new colorway regardless of whether they carry out-of-house ties. Pulling a new partner from an unexpected place, the next New Balance 991v2 is a direct ode to London’s biggest race, the TCS London Marathon.

It’s only right that one of the banner offerings in the Made In UK line stays there for this region-specific drop. The influence of nocturnal sneakers overseas is well documented at this point, so the choice to drape these sneakers almost entirely in black shouldn’t come as a shock, either. However, the appearance of bright green and orange adds some vibrant energy, likely an allusion to the safety gear hi-vis that dominates running attire as a whole. Those highlighter shades dress the FuelCell unit in the midsole, its full-length structure unique to the model. That construction aids in keeping those accent shades tastefully sparse, peeking through on the exterior profile and at the heel.
