Two Icons Clash In The Nike Air Max Plus Tiempo

Tuned Air meets the pitch.

Two Icons Clash In The Nike Air Max Plus Tiempo

Nike’s latest reincarnation of the Air Max Plus pairs the iconic Nike Tiempo football boot with 1998’s Tuned Air icon, but this crossover is a lot more commonplace than you think.

As part of the 25th Anniversary observance of the model, Nike called on none other than Kylian Mbappe to debut the Mercurial TN — the brand’s most innovative on-field boot inspired by Sean McDowell’s original design. The same cross-pollination of lifestyle icon and football occurs here as an all-leather Air Max Plus is built with contrast stitch uppers in place of the TPU cage above the mesh base, while a white leather Swoosh logo is fixed above. The Tiempo’s extended flap appears, folded down above the laces.

There’s even more Plus meets Pitch coming as well: this Summer, Paris Saint-Germain appears on the Air Max Plus “PSG”, one of many 2024 releases arriving from the partnership that was established in 2019.

As it stands, a release date for the Air Max Plus Tiempo hasn’t been confirmed yet, so stay tuned for additional details as Air Max Day 2024 approaches.
