Will Jordan Brand ever return to the Premio collection? A little refresher for those who weren’t around in 2010: The Air Jordan Bin 23 aka Premio collection was, to this day, the most premium execution of Air Jordan Retro releases ever. With all due respect to the upcoming Air Jordan 1 Wings Collection, the Bin 23s were that shoe, hitting every mark on colorway, story-telling, and packaging. The perfect finish touch came by way of the red wax-like stamp that adorned each of the individually numbered pairs.
Five versions in total were released, with the last being the all-black leather Air Jordan 5 in early 2021. It seemed like a good idea to release a Premio version of every model, but the Jumpman ceased to collection after just five installments, never to surface again.
But over the years, unreleased sample versions of the Bin 23 Collection appeared at random times, hinting at the scrapped ideas that never made it beyond the cutting room floor. This Air Jordan 13 is a far cry from the elegant maroon red and maple brown version that hit stores, opting for a cleaner grey-scale vision. Those who can remember that far back will recall Gentry Humphrey wearing this sample on his feet, which only sparked conversations of a possible return of the Bin 23 Pack.
@englishsole, collector of rare Air Jordan PEs and samples, brings us the most detailed look at this unreleased sample yet, and although it is highly unlikely that the Jumpman will revive this dead series, we’re hoping this serves as a not so gentle nudge to those in Beaverton that there still is a market for this type of product to the right collectors.
