Leather and suede combine on the base.

The ASICS GEL-Lyte III “Seal Grey/Dark Pewter” Takes On A Hazy Mix

The GEL-Lyte III was probably the ASICS’ most renowned model a few years ago, but recent trends have propelled lines like the GEL-Kayano and GEL-NYC to the forefront of sneaker headlines. Even still, the GEL-Lyte III continues to play an important role in the brand’s history and current-day lineup, remaining a key mover despite taking somewhat of a back seat in recent years.

The latest ASICS GEL-Lyte III delivery visits the model’s OG cut, defined by its unmistakable split-tongue formation and true 90s-bred tooling. A subtle ode to Ronnie Fieg’s “Salmon Toe” ASICS makes its way onto this pair, with “Seal Grey” suede enveloping the forefoot. The rest of the base takes on “Dark Pewter” leather, overlaid by suede ASICS branding on the quarter in light blue to match the rope laces up top. A cream-colored midsole embraces the “style” in “sportstyle” underfoot, complete just below with a dual-tone blue/grey outsole.

Pairs are currently live on asics.com for $140 in men’s and women’s sizing. See official images below for a closer look, and check out the just-dropped “Seal Grey” ASICS GEL-Kayano 14.
