Paris Fashion Week generally sees the debut of one or more out-of-the-box footwear offerings, and this year has been no exception. In a collaboration that’s sure to turn heads, Reebok’s exploratory LTD banner (Learn, Test, and Design) joins forces with Japanese brand Noir Kei Ninomiya to present a daring overhaul of the Instapump Fury.
Images shared by the Japanese fashion label reveal two imposing styles across white, black, and neon colorways for a total of six looks. The “Kumo” pairs feature flower-shaped air pumps, while “Yuki” iterations focus in on lace-inspired details. These flower-centric designs translate to “cloud” and “snow,” respectively, and do justice to Noir Kei Ninomiya’s experimental fusion of romantic and punk aesthetics. Adding more appeal, it appears as if the flowers on the “Kumo” pairs inflate with the press of each air pump.
While this collection is more than distinctive, this actually isn’t the first time we’ve seen Reebok collaborators use air pumps sporadically. Last year, MSCHF executed the theme on a pair of Omni Zone Reebok Pumps.
