Quickly rising to the level of a signature shoe for the Boston imprint, the New Balance 990v6 has emerged as a truly bankable asset since its debut some 22 months ago. The Teddy Santis designed shoe may make more headlines in its co-branded editions, but NB continues to deliver impressive in-house styles as well, continuing with the “Wheat/Silver” New Balance 990v6.

Particularly in this design, the New Balance 990v6 feels like it threads the needle between retro appeal and premium streetwear. The silver caging present on these, both synonymous with Y2K revivalism and the Boston brand itself, sets the former tone on the interior. It doesn’t take up that section by itself, though, with the orange “Wheat” shade painting the mesh foundation at the very core. Towards the top, suede panels that run the length of the laces and the mudguard lend a plush, luxury atmosphere.

No date has been set for the “Wheat/Silver” New Balance 990v6 just yet, but expect these making their way to the NB website and app in the coming weeks. They will carry a $210 price point once they do.

In more news for the model, the Aime Leon Dore New Balance 990v6 arrives with their S/S collection. For more on their flagship model, take a look at our latest on the New Balance 550.
