LeBron James showcased some standout footwear at the NBA All-Star Game on February 18th, revealing a Coach Prime-inspired Nike LeBron 21. The latest addition to the all-time scoring leader’s All-Star sneaker collection pays tribute to Deion Sanders and the iconic Nike Air DT Max 96, one of this year’s most anticipated sneaker releases that sold out immediately just prior to Super Bowl LVIII.
Images shared by @nbakicks (below) and @NickDePaula (above) reveal the design in all its glory, complete with full-length claw treatments and the model’s OG black/white/gold color scheme. This homage to the Diamond Turf series continues a pattern in LeBron’s player edition choices; back in 2018, The King and Nike dropped two LeBron 15 colorways that nodded to the Air Diamond Turf in both red and white color schemes as part of the LeBron Watch release program. This year, the tribute evolves as the Swoosh adorns their pinnacle athlete’s 21st signature model with a design that celebrates another notable #21 who wore the number in both football and baseball.
Deion Sanders has played a pivotal role in LeBron James’ growth into one of the greatest athletes to walk this planet. The two-sport superstar was one of three “Heroes” that Nike references in an incredible collection of LeBron 7 “Heroes Pack”, which also nodded to Michael Jordan and Penny Hardaway.
