Andrew Rizzo Updated February 15th, 2024: The Air Jordan 1 High ’85 “Metallic Burgundy” has been postponed to June 2024. It was originally expected to drop on February 16th, 2024 with an MSRP of $200.
With sneaker and basketball culture forever intertwined, the NBA All-Star Weekend marks one of the most significant annual timeframes for newsworthy shoe drops. This year’s release calendar boasts a myriad of deliveries from all the big brands, outfitting athletes and sneakerheads alike with on-foot hardware worthy of the bright lights.
The Nike KD 4 “Galaxy” looks primed to capture the most attention this year, the iconic shoe returning for the first time since its 2012 All-Star Weekend debut. Giannis Antetokounmpo’s upcoming Zoom Freak 5 and Immortality 3 models have also sparked lots of buzz, while Devin Booker looks forward to the debut of his first signature shoe after much anticipation. At the same time, Nike also gets set to release a “Greater Than” series featuring three modern day performance models inspired by court staples of the 90s and early 2000s.
New Balance, Reebok, and adidas spice up the brand variety with more basketball offerings, the most notable of the bunch being All-Star iterations of adidas AE1, Reebok Question, and New Balance TWO WXY v4.
Despite an already busy release weekend, the possibility of even more upcoming drops remains very much alive. Pop-ups and other sneaker-themed events in Indianapolis could play host to shock drops and other significant happenings, including a potential rollout of the soon-to-come New Balance Kawhi 4.
