This Air Jordan 38 Low Carries The Torch, Literally

New colorway reveals an intriguing symbol on the tongue.

This Air Jordan 38 Low Carries The Torch, Literally

From one model to the next, the flagship Air Jordan shoe has been regarded as a platform for Nike, Inc. to debut a new innovation to the market. Jordan Brand continued that tradition once it formed its own brand in the late 1990s, and decades later, innovation is still at its core.

This new colorway of the Air Jordan 38 Low carries that torch quite literally as it features a new logo on the left tongue of the shoe, and immediately there are a number of assumptions that can be made regarding the significance of that iconography. the first thought that comes to mind is a possible connection to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, although it’s a bit too early for any Olympic-inspired shoes to come forward.  This could also be a PE for a Jordan Brand athlete, although their individual logos typically infuse elements of their initials. A “Chinese New Year” nod could be possible given the intricate detailing on the upper, although the grey/orange color scheme doesn’t match anything Jordan Brand has established for the Year Of The Dragon.

While we await further details on this Air Jordan 38 Low, it appears that a release is coming soon as these photos have been shared by @gc911 on Instagram, an individual who runs a sneaker store out in China. Release calendars have an Air Jordan 38 Low launching at the end February, so these may hit the U.S. market in just a few weeks. For now, enjoy this closer look while we await official details behind this unique colorway.

In other upcoming Jordan updates, here’s the latest on the Jordan 4 “Bred Reimagined”.
