Retro Gaming Influences The New Balance TWO WXY V4 For All-Star Weekend

The TWO WXY V4 is the on-court shoe of favor for a number of New Balance Basketball athletes, including potential 2024 NBA All-Stars Jamal Murray and Tyrese Maxey. As we creep closer to All-Star weekend, the Boston brand offers up images of an upcoming TWO WXY V4 set to release on February 15th, the day festivities kick off.

The association of this new colorway with any specific New Balance athlete is a mystery for now, but the shoe’s captivating design stands out independently. Its aesthetic pays homage to retro gaming, featuring vivid hues of red, blue, green, and yellow that evoke memories of the OG Playstation and Nintendo 64 era.

A standout feature is the black TPU “Press Start” button at the top of the toe box, an unmistakable nod to gaming culture. These nostalgic details extend to the tongue and the periphery of the prominent N logo, treated with all four colors in the palette, as well as a full-length rainbow (road?) gradient underfoot to round off the shoe’s design.

Enjoy detailed images below and mark your calendars for this release on February 15th, priced at $130.
