Air technology goes hand-in-hand with the Air Force 1. The then-revolutionary sneaker ushered in the era of Air to its basketball footwear as it featured a Air bubble unit embedded inside the midsole for that added comfort and support. Nike has indeed executed visible Air on the AF1 before to showcase the technology and engineering behind the lifestyle model, but this upcoming release simply can’t contain it.

First debuting on the Mid-cut version of the Air Force 1 EVO, this new style highlights the Air Max on the midsole as if its bursting out of the shoe. Far rounder in shape akin to the Air units of the 1990s, the cushioning platform on this Air Force 1 appears on the heel as well as the fore-foot, ensuring maximum comfort. Nike furthers the “hidden” concept on the Swoosh logo as the extended edges appear to be cut out to reveal the white base mesh layer.

Certainly a unique spin on the ’82 classic, but will AF1 purists take to this modern day update? See the official images ahead and stay tuned for further release info.
