Blind Pro Skater Dan Mancina Gets His Own adidas Busenitz Colorway

With braille on the tongue!

Blind Pro Skater Dan Mancina Gets His Own adidas Busenitz Colorway

Pro skateboarder Dan Mancina was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa at thirteen years old, a rare disease that causes the retina to break down slowly over time. While he never fell fully out of love with skateboarding, his impairments steered him away from the sport before re-finding his passion in his twenties.

Now, Mancina’s resume includes a following of over 200k on Instagram, sponsorships with Real Skateboards and adidas, and projects centered around teaching and motivating other visually impaired skaters. In recognition of the adidas athlete and his contributions to the skating community, the Three Stripes Brand is set to release an adidas Busenitz in Mancina’s own custom colorway.

Eyes are first drawn to the tongue label on this pair, which boasts Mancina’s last name embossed in braille. The upper of the shoe wears a versatile olive-colored suede, complemented by white/red stripes and special branding in place of the traditional “Busenitz” text.

This pair releases on January 20th for an MSRP of $100.
