Ronnie Fieg’s ASICS EX89 “Kithmas” Releases Tomorrow

Ronnie Fieg’s ASICS EX89 “Kithmas” Releases Tomorrow

Ronnie Fieg’s Kith and ASICS have found rapid success amidst their handful of collaborative installments. Headlined by the nostalgia-inducing X-Men ’96 GEL-LYTE III collection that harkened to the aesthetics of unboxing high-end trading cards at the end of the summer, the New York and Japan-based imprints now welcome Fieg’s first take on the trail-ready ASICS EX89 Outdoor.

Originally introduced in 1998 as the GEL-EXTREME, the EX89 served as the latter’s 2022 revitalization with several collaborations welcoming the performance tooling back from the archives. Embarking upon a palette plucked from the outdoors, a rich collection of retro hues animate the clad premium pigskin suede upper. Reminiscent of natural landscapes, a wheat-reminiscent shade of tan envelops the model’s base layer while dark navy blue overlays and laces. Set atop a clean cream sole unit, the upper’s remaining real estate is cured in red and green fervor across the profile tiger stripe, inner lining, heel bumper and both the tongue and heel tabs.

The Kith in-app drawing for the Ronnie Fieg x ASICS EX89 Outdoor is currently open while limited quantities will be available on Monday, December 11th at Kith’s regional online storefronts. In the meantime, the pair can be seen ahead in detailed imagery.

In other news, the Nike SB Dunk Orange Label series is returning in “Navy/Gum” in 2024.
