The New Balance 610T “Phantom” Is Ready For The Trails

Born in the early 2010s, the New Balance 610T has enjoyed significant time in the spotlight over the last year. For its latest ensemble, the trail-ready silhouette has taken on an understated “Phantom/Blacktop” color scheme.

All of the model’s traditional components reprise their role on the pair. A breathable mesh base layer sets the stage for suede and other fabric panels across the upper. The bulk of the swathes, however, opt for barely-discernible navy and black, allowing for hairy components along the tongue and at the spine to revel in a brown finish. “N” logos on the profiles favor a New Balance-approved grey, which also lands at the rear foot. The remainder of the tried-and-proven sole unit consists of different shades of “Blacktop,” creating a rather muted NB 610T. Unlike other recently-seen makeovers from the Boston-based company, the “Phantom”-covered trail shoe doesn’t feature protective GORE-TEX membranes, meaning it’s performance in certain conditions will be hindered. Nevertheless, the 11-year-old design has proven to endure the transition from street to trail through in-line and collaborative styles alike.

Enjoy official photos of the dark-colored NB 610T ahead. Pairs have become available at select shops overseas, but a stateside newbalance.com launch has yet to be seen. That may change as 2024 gets going, however. In any case, the New Balance 610T is priced at $110 USD.
