First teased in late July, the Air Jordan 6 “Reverse Oreo” (tentative name) has recently emerged via in-hand photos.
Clad in straightforward “White/Black,” the sneaker gets its cookie-inspired moniker from an Air Jordan retro that launched in 2010. Sneaker releases were less frequent throughout the decade, marking each new take on Michael Jordan’s storied catalog special. The two-tone color scheme was not original to the AJ6, but resembled the “Motorsport” pair released in February of that year, a sneaker that was much more limited.
The “Reverse Oreo” Jordan 6, then, plays on the foundation set by the Air Jordan 6 “Oreo.” Uppers are contracted entirely from leather, abandoning the suede panels found on the 13-year-old predecessor. A clean “White” finish covers the majority of the sneaker, allowing for “Black” contrast throughout the tongue and heel to revel in the spotlight. The sneaker’s “Oreo” element arrives via the midsole, as dark-colored details are contrasted by “White” speckles. Remaining components across the sole unit don’t boast the same paint splatter, but deliver more black-and-white goodness to the sixth Air Jordan. Jumpman logos on the spine and icy blue traction zones underfoot round out the upcoming Jordan release.
Enjoy an extremely early-look at the retro ahead. The “Reverse Oreo” 6s are set to debut via the Nike SNKRS app on June 8th, 2024. An MSRP is set at $200 USD for adult’s sizes.
