Fresh off of its most recent collaborative effort with Ronnie Fieg’s KITH and Madison Square Garden, the New Balance 990v6 has routinely informed the Boston brand’s crop of contemporary 2000s runners. Opposing the circa 1982 model’s original greyscale palette, the 990v6 recently launched in a glut of spring-reminiscent pink hues.
Exploring a richly layered palette that’s become synonymous with the Boston brand’s 2000s racing ethos, the sixth iteration of the heralded 990 remains true to its mesh-cured base layer and suede surroundings. The presiding soft rose hue is concentrated in rapid succession throughout the pair’s base, tongue and full-length overlay while buttercream accents amplify the mid-foot overlays. Underfoot a crisp white midsole helps to offset the pastel-dominant allure of the upper before a barrage of light grey shades ascertain the tongue tab, quarter, and the profile “N” logos for a crisp conclusion to the kids-exclusive offering.
The New Balance 990v6 “Pink Haze” is currently available in grade school, preschool and toddler sizing for a retail price ranging from $90-$130. For easier access, PS and toddler sizes offer a Hook & Loop option in addition to the GS counterpart’s cream-white laces. If you’re still on the fence, enjoy a detailed look at the pair below.
In other news, the Doernbecher Jordan 3 releases on December 2nd.
