The Nike Air Huarache debuted in 1991 but continues to claim a spot within the modern world of sneakers.
As the Swoosh continues to reimagine the silhouette’s function-first design, the Oregon-based brand has brought new life to Tinker Hatfield’s blueprint. Recently, a pair seemingly slated for Spring 2024 has emerged, donning an eye-catching “Chlorophyll” color. Before the Air Huarache was born, Hatfield brought the rich green tone to the Air Trainer 1, a proposition for the late 1980s cross-training trend. The newer style, however, is much more indulgent of the titular hue, boasting different shades across branding, neoprene sidewalls, and plastic heel components.
A combination of off white and grey colors take over most of the upper’s remaining panels, save for the “rails” on the profiles. Underfoot, the spring-ready “Chlorophyll” Huarache keeps things simple in a two-tone palette that harkens back to Nike Running heritage. All together, each aforementioned detail helps take Hatfield’s design into its 33rd anniversary.
Enjoy official photos of the pair ahead. No firm nike.com launch details have been shared by the brand as of this writing, but that’s likely to change in the first quarter of 2024. The Air Huarache is priced at $125 USD.
In related sneaker news, there could be a Patta Air Max 1 “Chlorophyll 2.0” in the works.
