1984 saw the near collapse of the Air Force 1 if it weren’t for the saving grace of Baltimore sneaker boutiques that leveraged the low-top silhouette into an upper echelon of street-wear fashion. Sparking a return to the latter’s resurgence through the “Color of the Month” collection, Nike has continued to amplify the Bruce Kilgore design through simplistic two-toned treatments; the latest of which arrives in a crisp white and green palette.
Enacting a near replication of its “Malachite Green” ensemble that we previewed earlier in October, the silhouette remains grounded in its “Uptown” roots through a blank white treatment that adheres to the flat leather construction. Stretching further colorless aesthetics along the tongue, laces and midsole, the pair’s remaining embellishments are stricken with a solid green through-line. The aforementioned tint sticks to the pair’s typical accented elements along the profile swoosh, heel tab and tread.
