“Light Smoke Grey” Accents Land On This Clean Nike Air Force 1 Low

The Nike Air Force 1 Low‘s 40th anniversary has been full of compelling styles. As the milestone celebration comes to a close, the Swoosh is seemingly revisiting the first color scheme of Bruce Kilgore’s “presidential” design.

In 1982, Nike introduced the high-top Air Force 1 to the basketball world, bringing the technology found in its running products to the hardwood. To coincide with widespread uniform regulations of the era, the brand offered its aggressive basketball sneaker in a simple “White/Metallic Silver” arrangement. Over the years, the Swoosh has revisited the two-tone style, with the latest arriving on a newly-surfaced low-top offering.

The unreleased Air Force 1 Low isn’t a one-to-one replica of Kilgore’s original pair from the early ’80s, but its resemblance is too similar to not make the connection. “White”-colored leather sets the stage for contrasting accents across the upper. Midsoles also opt for a “colorless” finish that harkens back to past decades, while also keeping things classic. “Light Smoke Grey,” then, takes over everything from the profile swooshes to the radial traction underfoot, creating a look that could’ve released during the sneaker’s earliest days. “AF-1”-branded Lace dubraes round out the straightforward color scheme with a “Metallic Silver” touch.

Enjoy official photos of the pair ahead, as you wait for firm nike.com launch details. The two-tone Air Force 1 is priced at $120 USD.
