The “Beast” Is Back: Nike Is Dropping This Special LeBron 2 For First Time Ever

UPDATE November 2nd, 2023: A release date is confirmed for November 16th, 2023 ($250).

One of LeBron James’ most scintillating exclusives ever created is finally seeing a retail release in 2023.

With a rumored release first surfacing in late 2022, the LeBron 2 “Beast” has finally appeared via brand official images. This only points to an imminent drop on Nike SNKRS and partnering retailers, although it’s not entirely clear just how limited (or available) they will be.

This wild take on the LeBron 2 was first created for LeBron James back in 2014; it was then that LeBron embraced the “villain” arc of his career, playing the anti-hero while withstanding the hate from fans around the globe. LeBron would eventually win back the hearts of hoops fans worldwide by returning to Cleveland and bringing the city, once destitute of championship banners, with the golden hardware in 2016.

This LeBron 2 achieved the “Beast” moniker via the multi-patterned upholstery that reflects the animals of the wild — primarily that of the leopard and the zebra. The entirety of the shoe is covered in pony hair, adding to that predatory aesthetic.

A firm release date hasn’t been disclosed just yet, but you can expect these before the end of the calendar year for $250.
