Jordan Brand’s basketball roster has exploded in recent years, boasting three signature athletes and a plethora of NBA and WNBA athletes brandishing Jumpman footwear on the hardwood. Ahead of the 2023-24 NBA season, the Beaverton brand has announced its annual class of rookie signings including Rockets guard Cam Whitmore, Pistons guard Marcus Sasser, Heat forward Jaime Jacquez Jr and Magic guard Jett Howard.
In a true testament to Michael Jordan’s enduring legacy and timeless impact, each of the first-year players holds a unique connection to the brand between Sasser and Jacquez Jr attending Jordan-sponsored colleges in Houston and UCLA, respectively, to Whitmore playing for Team Melo’s seventh-grade AAU team.
“The Jordan Brand is different. Everyone that’s a part of this family has a killer instinct when it comes to dominating in their sport, but everyone also has something unique to them. I’m excited to bring my flavor to this Brand and keep that same mentality the Brand is known for,” Sasser said in a statement.
Few brands have retooled their basketball banners as effectively and efficiently as Jordan in the past few years. Since 2019, the brand has given Jayson Tatum, Luka Doncic and Zion Williamson their own signature series while broadening its presence within the WNBA – growing its female roster from two to 12 in 2023. Joining Rhyne Howard, Paolo Banchero, Bradley Beal and Bam Adebayo, the four signees will have their pick at the gambit of on-court offerings to start to the NBA season in just a few weeks.
