Throughout the NBA preseason, Devin Booker has elected to continue rocking Kobe Protros in lieu of his first signature silhouette’s release later this holiday season. Last night in Portland, Devin Booker was spotted in the “Ukraine” Nike Kobe 6 PE, a gift from former Phoenix Suns teammate and sneaker aficionado P.J. Tucker.
In an image posted to Booker’s IG story, it was revealed that Tucker ended up gifting his own pair to the latest Nike signature athlete. Booker and Tucker have held a special connection since the three-time All-Star’s rookie season where P.J. acted as both a veteran and big brother figure to the then newly-minted guard.
The Player Exclusive colorway has made its rounds for the past few seasons throughout social media each time Tucker dawns the sunset orange pair – an homage to his time playing professionally in Ukraine. The dominant jet-black upper and gradient-coated composition first made its appearance in 2021 when Tucker was a member of the Milwaukee Bucks. Nearly three years later, and the heartfelt colorway has been passed down to the next generation of the NBA’s sneakerheads.
The aforementioned colorway certainly won’t be seeing a broader release anytime soon. In the meantime, the pair can be seen below in detailed imagery.
For more from the Sun’s star shooting guard, the Nike Book 1 has revealed both official images and technical details.
