Jared Ebanks The mid-top trim of the heralded Air Jordan 1 still remains the most divisive height of Michael Jordan’s inaugural signature silhouette. However, the AJ1 Mid continues to expand the Beaverton brand’s more advantageous design choices.
Recently, the mid-sized model explored a compelling greyscale treatment amplified through the use of burnished overlays. While a dark “Cool Grey” consumes the tumbled leather base layer and textile tongue construction, the surrounding suede overlays have been stricken with a distressed finish that sports seldom splotches of jet-black contrasts. Elsewhere, a “Sail” tinted midsole adds to the aged nostalgia while a pitch-dark grey imbues the laces and tread with further monochrome detailing.
