Having recently returned in its original “White/University Red/Black” color scheme, the Nike Air Alpha Force 88 has set its eyelets on lifestyle-oriented ensembles.
The decades-old design has surfaced in a “Red Stardust” and “Sanddrift” color combination in time for fall. Tinker Hatfield’s original blueprint is followed closely on the latest take, although perforated leather is replaced with soft suede across the upper. Lockdown straps at the vamp, TPU eyestays along the tongue, and fabric collar areas, however, reprise their roles, bringing 1980s design to the modern era. “Red Stardust” takes on most of the top-half, but Air Force branding (which used to denote Nike’s footwear for bigger, powerful players) on the tongue interrupt in stark black and orange contrast. Underfoot, the old school sole unit prefers a beige finish that complements the upper well while cementing the sneaker as a compelling option for casual wear 35 years after its debut.
Enjoy official photos of the pair ahead, and anticipate a nike.com launch in the coming months. The Air Alpha Force 88 is priced at $130 USD.
In modern Nike Basketball news, the LeBron 21 has debuted before the 2023-24 NBA season.
