Concepts’ New Balance 998 “C-Note” Collaboration From 2013 Returns On October 5th

Boston’s Concepts is re-issuing one of their most celebrated collaborations ever.

Originally releasing in September 2013, the Concepts x New Balance 998 “C-Note” was originally designed as an homage to the $100 bill. The release also coincided with New Balance’s official recognition of the 998’s 20th Anniversary, which consisted of a series of shop and brand collaborations throughout the year.

Arguably their best 998 design, the “C-Note” could indeed be hitting retail in 2023 now that the silhouette is celebrating its 30th Anniversary. Based on an Instagram post shared by the shop’s creative mastermind Deon Point, this iconic release is attached with an updated “Old Money…” tagline. Additionally, the 2023 version could possibly be based on the revamped OG model that was introduced earlier this year as part of Teddy Santis’ Made In USA collection; the pair pictured is that of the 2013 version with a different shape.

Both Concepts and New Balance confirmed a re-release of the “C-Note” 998 via official channels days after Point hinted at a reissue. The collaboration returns on October 5th via newbalance.com, cncpts.com, and Concepts locations in Boston and New York City. The shoe is priced at $220 USD.
