Zion Williamson’s Third Signature Shoe, The Jordan Zion 3, Is Officially Unveiled

It’s been four full seasons since Zion Williamson has graced an NBA court, but sadly, we’ve yet to see his true potential revealed. The former Duke standout and number 1 overall pick, viewed as a generational talent and physique, has battled more personal injuries than playoff opponents, but he’s taking the slow and steady approach to ensure a long and lasting career.

Now three signature shoes in with Jordan Brand, Zion must now be viewed as a vet. His third model, the Jordan Zion 3, focuses on three tenets: containment, court feel and impact protection. The Zion 3 is comparatively slimmer to its predecessors, featuring a lower height and a TPU upper that features a material and color splatter that was created using 3D imaging of Zion’s foot last launching through mud. This adds a personal twist to the model; Zion “made it out of the mud” from his roots in South Carolina, ascending to become one of the most exciting young talents in the NBA.

The drop-in sole, Zoom Air cushioning, and low-cut silhouette makes it easy to draw comparisons to the Kobe 11, but the similarities really end there. The Zion 3 utilizes Formula 23 foam cushioning, while that pattern on the upper is also arranged to help with containment of the foot.

The first Jordan Zion 3. the black/pink “Sanctuary” is set to release this September. The “Mud, Sweat, and Tears” is confirmed for a release in the following October. The remaining colorways below will be announced at a later date.
