Over the last handful of years, NIKE, Inc. has tapped into its archives to revive long-forgotten silhouettes. Although the Swoosh conglomerate has unearthed pairs from various decades, it’s displayed a particular affinity for sneakers from the 1980s.
Recently, the Nike Full Force Low – a design based on the Air Force III that debuted in 1988 – appeared in several colors, marking the latest trip down memory lane by the Swoosh. The silhouette abandons a lot of the weight and ruggedness that made the third Nike Air Force a formidable shoe on the court for a sleeker setup suitable for casual wear. A clean white finish lands across most of the pair’s upper, but panels around the mid-foot and heel deviate in stark grey contrast. Tongues and swooshes on the profiles and heel take on a pitch-black look that allows for the old school “FORCE” branding on the tongue to revel in the spotlight. Underfoot, sole units harken back to the ’80s with their dipped midsole and radial traction pattern.
Enjoy official photos of the pair ahead, and anticipate a nike.com launch before 2023 ends.
