LaMelo Ball’s Puma MB.03 Signature Shoe Is Launching First As An NFT

Charlotte Hornets standout LaMelo Ball is ready to embark on the next chapter of his signature shoe journey with PUMA, and he’s doing so by delving into the world of Web3.

The third model, officially called the the MB.03, features an entirely new design that continues the chaotic, unrestrained aesthetic seen in the first two models. The third is easily the most daring of the trio, with a bold midsole design that splashes upwards into the mid-foot of the shoes. The quilted padding at the achilles and scooping heel also indicate the “Not From Here” design approach, providing an organic shape to match the overlays.

The MB.03 is set to debut in the “GutterMelo” colorway, a collaboration with NFT collectible company Gutter Cat Gang. The imprints Gutter Cat mascot appears on the tongue in the same heat-map color gradient that matches the pattern on the synthetic overlay.

Before the IRL shoe drops later this year, the Puma MB.03 “GutterMelo” will first be available as an NFT on OpenSea beginning on June 29th (purchasable with ETH or credit card). Those who are in possession of the NFT will get a first chance to obtain the physical version of the shoe during a specific time window set at July 18th through August 20th. After that period, there will be no other opportunity to claim the shoes.

The NFT will be priced starting at $175. More MB.03 colorways are likely to follow later this Fall 2023 season.
