From celebrating Jackie Robinson Day to gifting both the Phillies and Dodgers with color-coordinated SB Dunk Lows, the MLB has been well-represented within the sneaker game as of late, almost exclusively via the low-top tooling of Peter Moore’s iconic design. Recently, the Oakland Athletic’s titular color blocking appeared via the tumbled leather uppers of an Air Force 1 Low.
While the silhouette doesn’t follow the organization’s dominant green and seldom yellow palette to a tee, the connection to one of Oakland’s last remaining professional sports teams remains all the same. Draped atop a crisp white base layer, vibrant yellow overlays exercise a fair amount of real estate, leaving the synonymous forest green shade to liven the sole unit’s AIR lettering alongside both the tongue and heel tabs. Elsewhere, jet-black hues immediately force the mid-foot Swoosh and tread to stand out amongst a silhouette fit for any A’s fan throughout the season.
As we await further release details, in the meantime enjoy official imagery of the Nike Air Force 1 “Oakland Athletics” below.
In other news from underneath the Nike Inc. banner, the Air Jordan 1 Low ’85 “Metallic Blue” is returning in Spring 2024.
