Dozens of new sneakers surfaced over the last seven days, but one story trumped all others: adidas and Ye working together again.
The being formerly known as “Kanye West” hasn’t commented on the news, but the Three Stripes shared its plan to sell YEEZY footwear again. The plan addresses the months-long issue of sitting on unsold adidas YEEZY shoes, which led to an over $440 million loss in sales since October 2022. There isn’t a goal of working out another long-term deal with Ye, but adidas will offer the American icon 15% commission on all product sold. Additionally, a portion of proceeds from selling off YEEZY sneakers will be donated to international organizations for a charitable component.
Elsewhere, NIKE, Inc. got countless sneaker enthusiasts saving up money for pairs like the Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Triple White,” Air Jordan 6 “Toro Bravo,” and Nike Ja 1 “Hunger.” The Swoosh also helped Drake and his NOCTA imprint unveil new styles of the Hot Step Air Terra.
For all that and much more, including the inaugural Crocs Pollex Slide by Salehe Bembury, check out our top headlines from May 6th to May 12th ahead.
