For over 20 years adidas and Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto have been bringing the sneaker ecosystem one of the longest-running collaborations to date, fusing the 3-Stripes performance catalog with avant-garde design. Taking on the sport for the very first time in the two entities’ collaborative journey, the Y-3 Summer 2023 collection reimagines the German sportswear brand’s lineup of racing solutions.
Embarking on a groundbreaking exploration of the Adizero capsule, Yamamoto has taken his rebellious renegade design to four distinct silhouettes – the Y-3 Boston 11, Takumi Sen 9, UltraBOOST Light and Runner 4D FWD. Dipping the quartet of compositions in clad shades of jet-black, each futuristic ensemble bears crisp white brushstrokes elongating the mid-foot 3-Stripes down toward each pair’s sole unit. Accompanied by signature Y-3 hang tags, the upcoming capsule is expected to be followed by additional apparel and footwear releases throughout the coming months.
As the first in an ongoing series of launches, the adidas Y-3 Adizero Running collection is scheduled to release on May 12th. In the meantime, enjoy official imagery of each of the four silhouettes below.
In the realm of upcoming releases, the Nike Air Zoom Generation “Cemented In Time” is scheduled to release tomorrow, May 10th.
