The Reebok Shaq Attaq “Blacktop” Returns On April 14th

From New York City’s famed Rucker Park to the playground icons of the 60s and 70s, the blacktop cements basketball legends. As warmer months begin to overtake the cooler climate, Reebok is harkening back to hooping during the dog days of the summer by returning the Reebok Shaq Attaq to its outdoor tooling from 1991.

Reconstructing Shaquille O’Neal’s first signature silhouette to match the wave of popularity centered on playground hoops throughout the 90s, the simplistic black and white high-top ensemble now comes reinforced with durable overlays, a carbon fiber mid-foot shank and a refurbished sole unit built for the extensive wear of concrete courts. Free from the confines of an indoor gym, the silhouettes accented color palette looks to pops of hues to signify the electric style of play outside with teals lining the mid-foot and tongue while seldom purple shades touch down on the presiding “PUMP” bladder and handwritten “Reebok” logo.
