The New Balance Rainier Prepares For Adventure In A Simple Black Colorway

Since their founding, New Balance has displayed expertise in many a different category, from skateboarding all the way to basketball. And with the revival of the Rainier, the Boston-based footwear brand is making their return to a very different frontier: the great outdoors.

Appearing in no shortage of colorways since its return last year, the New Balance Rainier’s latest is somewhat more subdued relative to its predecessors. Here, the upper is almost entirely blacked out, with the leather overlays and textile unders painted in the dark neutral. Silver metallic hardware is then bolted to the side, strung through with a set of bright red laces that wouldn’t seem out of place on a pair of hiking boots.

Rounded out with a cream sole unit, these Rainiers should be releasing through NewBalance.com and select retailers relatively soon. For now, sit tight we await word on a firm release date.
