Update: The Nike Runtekk has been renamed to the V2K Run.
—
Nike has produced a number of women’s exclusive sneakers over the years, many based on existing icons. The Air Force 1 Fontanka and Dunk Low Disrupt, for example, simply built atop the well-established designs of Bruce Kilgore and Peter Moore. This is not quite the case for the Swoosh’s latest creation, however, as it captures not the essence of one single model but the spirit of the early to late aughts as a whole.
Dubbed the Runtekk, Nike’s newest silhouette harkens back to the aesthetics of the Y2K era, its construction an ostensible amalgamation of several past releases. At first glance, it’s likely images of the Zoom Vomero are quick to come to mind, as the upcoming pair features silver metallic paneling and detailing through much of the upper. What’s more, the overlaid cage and sole unit seem to echo the design language of the aforementioned, albeit in a fashion somewhat more contemporary.
The Nike Runtekk is expected to release later this July. As we await more details, enjoy a closer look at the shoe ahead.
In other news, official images of the Dunk Low Twist Panda just surfaced.
UPDATE 4/11/2023:
