First Look At A Fear Of God x adidas Sample

First Look At A Fear Of God x adidas Sample

Since the official announcement of its partnership over two years ago, the Fear of God adidas union has yet to truly stamp its arrival into the sportswear market. Outside of smaller-scale pop-ups overseas, Jerry Lorenzo and adidas seem to be leaning towards a patient approach for the global launch of the adidas Fear Of God Athletics program, but today we’re finally getting a first look at what’s to come from this highly anticipated partnership.

In photos leaked by @youngviet23 on Instagram, a sample of an upcoming adidas Fear Of God high-top sneaker has been revealed. Opting for a the clean, understated approach seen across most of the Fear Of God aesthetic, this high-top sneaker features a literal blank nylon canvas in black with a mid-foot strap and a logo application on the toe-box. The one-piece midsole also sheds light on Lorenzo’s distance from sharp angles. Additional taping covers the edge seams on strap, ankle collar and heel pull-tab. In comparison to Jerry Lorenzo’s previous work with Nike, the design direction is quite consistent with restrained design seen in the Fear Of God Moccasin and Raid.

According to the brand, the adidas Fear Of God Athletics program launches in 2023; see the first look at the samples below and stay tuned for updates.

UPDATE 3/24/2023:
In conversation with Complex, Jerry Lorenzo addressed the leaked Fear of God x adidas sample, stating that it is “not the basketball sneaker from Fear of God and adidas.” The actual performance sneakers and RTW collection will be revealed in April.
