This year, A BATHING APE officially turns 30-years-old. And to celebrate the occasion, the legendary streetwear label has lined up another collaboration with the Three Stripes, one that brings the STA logo to the much-beloved Campus.
Shared via IG, the announcement, which was accompanied by an animation almost exciting as the news itself, visually shared little of what was actually on the way. Earlier this month, though, images of a pair of BAPE x adidas Campus 80s did boil to the surface. And though unconfirmed whether or not this is what’s actually releasing, the hashtags tucked underneath the reveal’s caption do provide some credence to the leaks.
Going off this recently-surfaced imagery, the BAPE x adidas Campus 80s does feature nods to the Japanese brand’s 30th anniversary, with the milestone written in black along a navy suede tongue. Elsewhere, the rest of the upper employs the same color and material, with the iconic “STA” logo and “A BATHING APE” stamp layered along the side in white and gold, respectively. The logo along the heel and the added dubrae, too, appear to be done up in a gilded finish.
As of writing this, BAPE has only confirmed a release date: April 1st, 2023. As we await more information, look ahead for an early peek at what could very well be releasing next month.
In other news, eight pairs of the Futura Off-White Nike Dunk Low will be up for auction soon.
UPDATE 3/27/2023:
The BAPE x adidas Campus 80s is confirmed to be releasing via A BATHING APE Stores, BAPE.com, and adidas.com on April 1st. See below for official and campaign imagery.
