Joe Freshgoods took some time away from the spotlight to shine focus on some matters important to him and his native Chicago. To welcome spring, the American designer has unveiled the “Beneath the Surface” collection with New Balance.
Consisting of the NB 610 and Rainier boot, the upcoming drop introduces JFG’s first-ever camouflage print. The fifth installment of the partnership between Joseph Robinson and New Balance, the three-pair capsule features vibrant orange, muted green, and light tan tones throughout the shoes. Freshgoods’ design approach explored the inaugural “JFG print” across each silhouette’s upper – from tonal base to animated mesh. According to the West Side of Chicago-native, the New Balance 610 and New Balance Rainier included in the “Beneath the Surface” pack are “easily [his] most detailed shoe with NB to date.”
Joe Freshgoods’ latest New Balance offerings aren’t only works of aesthetics, however. Vibram outsoles underfoot provide a reliable ride across the roughest terrains. Both the NB 610 and NB Rainier boot debuted decades ago with the intention of bringing the company’s high-quality craftwork and comfort to the trails. Both designs accomplished this in their own right, and they’re poised to secure a spot in the fashion space thanks to collaborators like Joe Freshgoods.
No firm release details have been shared, but JFG has hinted at an newbalance.com release throughout April.
