With high school championships beginning to wrap up across the country, AAU coaches have already begun their rosters for the coming Spring and Summer circuits. For the select few programs sponsored by The Swoosh, the next few months will determine the redemption of a bid to the hallowed EYBL Peach Jam in July. With the opportunity to cement one’s status or collect those last few scholarships, Nike’s Elite Youth Basketball League is simultaneously notorious for crafting exclusive renditions of the brand’s slate of signature silhouettes, dressed in a titular thematic color blocking each year.
Set to encompass the Nike KD 15, LeBron 20 and Zoom Freak 4 with EYBL branding atop the tongue, the Beaverton brand’s latest signature athlete – Ja Morant – now receives his first EYBL PE as seen below. Indulging in the youth’s widely-adorned mismatched aesthetic, a purple base is cast across the Ja 1’s right foot while its left is dipped in a vibrant yellow scheme, accented at its heel tab and tongue with the opposition. While the mesh underlays, tongue construction and heel counter further the tonal composition, identical embellishments fill the mid-foot Swooshes in a marbled multi-color whereas the semi-translucent tread underfoot embarks on a bright cyan heel and gradient-infused forefoot.
Constructed exclusively for Nike-sponsored AAU programs within the EYBL, sit tight while we await official images of the Nike Ja 1 “EYBL”. In the meantime, enjoy a first look at the player exclusive silhouette below via recently surfaced imagery.
