HOKA — alongside maintaining collaborative relationships with the likes of Bodega and Engineered Garments — continues to improve upon their performance category, evolving several of their most beloved franchises. And after a few years since the debut of the original, the footwear brand has finally ushered in a sequel to the Rocket X.
“The Rocket X2 exemplifies HOKA’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of our sport and further serves our mission of providing our elite athletes with the most pinnacle racing products as they chase race records and personal bests,” said Colin Ingram, Vice President of Product at HOKA. “Our team was hyper-focused on innovating every aspect of this shoe through design, construction, and testing to present the highest performing road racing product in the HOKA line.”
Appropriately dubbed the Rocket X2, HOKA’s latest runner is said to be their “most pinnacle performance road racing shoe to date.” Designed with feedback from the brand’s extensive roster of elite road runners and triathletes, the sequel further evolves upon the engineering of its predecessor, boasting a ProFlyX midsole construction that stacks a soft layer of foam over top a responsive bottom. What’s more, the sole unit features a spoon-shaped, offset carbon fiber plate complete with early stage MetaRocker technology. The upper, too, has been updated, now employing a lightweight, breathable synthetic mesh that’s reinforced with dual-sided tongue gussets and an internal midfoot cage.
Weighing in at 6.7 oz for a women’s size 8 and 8.3 oz for a men’s size 10, the HOKA Rocket X2 is currently available right now via HOKA.com at a retail price of $250 USD.
