The Swoosh’s fascination with vintage is certainly nothing new, manifesting itself in the Air Jordan 1 “Lost & Found” as well as countless inline releases. But with this newly-revealed Dunk Low, Nike is simulating age in a fashion much more unique, forgoing yellowed midsoles for a set of pre-weathered overlays.
Much of this Dunk Low’s construction juxtaposes the distressing at the core of its themes. The white leather base, sole unit, and navy Swoosh, for example, are pristine in terms of condition, their finishes lacking discoloration, scuffs, and discernible markings. All of these, however, are present across the overlays, whose surface is faded and worn down well passed the paint. What’s more, the sockliners are done up in complement to said paneling, albeit doing so in a way much more artificial.
Enjoy official images of this forthcoming Dunk Low ahead. A release is likely coming soon, with pairs to be made available via Nike.com as well as select retailers.
In other news, the Air Jordan 4 Olive Canvas is expected to release during Holiday 2023.
