Simple “Black/White” looks have become widely associated with the Nike Dunk Low “Panda” over the last couple of years, but the color scheme has been a mainstay of swoosh-branded products for decades now. The Air Jordan 1 Mid didn’t debut with the two-tone arrangement, but the model’s original trim did back in 1985.
As the world awaits for the Air Jordan 1 ’85 to return in classic “Black/White” come February 2023, a handful of other similar designs have emerged in the “Panda”-nicknamed color combination. The aforementioned mid-top is the latest, serving as a “sweet spot” between the ubiquitous Nike Dunk and rarer original Air Jordan. Leather construction makes up the bulk of the upper, with panels all throughout the retro’s top-half divvying up the versatile colors. “NIKE AIR” branding is abandoned at the top of the tongue, but the sole unit underfoot stays true to Peter Moore’s 37-year-old blueprint.
No firm nike.com launch details have been disclosed by the brand as of yet, but that’s likely to change soon. In the meantime, enjoy product shots of the pair ahead.
