Each year MJ’s connection to the Tar Heels is reconstructed across Jordan Brand’s wide-ranging retro roster. Having most recently touched down on the Air Jordan 13 and culminating with the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG next summer, in the meantime the Beaverton brand is making sure the next generation of athletes are fitted with the same iconic scheme, having dressed this grade school-exclusive Air Jordan 1 Mid in the presiding UNC-centric theme.

Disparate from its high-top construction’s crisp white detailing found throughout the upper, the latter is used in seldom as the midsole’s contrast next to its baby blue tread. Above, vibrant shades of “University Blue” employ across the smooth leather overlays of the upper in tandem with its midfoot Swoosh and mesh tongue construction. Completing the two-toned ensemble above with jet-black accents outfitting the pair’s base layer, sock liner, laces and Jumpman insignia, the silhouette concludes with a tried-and-true coordination.
