Widely (but incorrectly) dubbed the “Protection Pack,” New Balance‘s “Refined Future” series has become one of the brand’s most anticipated since debuting with the 2002R in 2021. As the company heads into a new year, it’s experimenting with the pre-distressed atop the 1906R silhouette.
Clad in styles similar to the debut “Refined Future” collection, the New Balance 1906R‘s four newly-surfaced styles keep designer Yue Wu’s vision intact. Hairy suede panels sit atop breathable mesh base layers for an arrangement that’s equal parts lifestyle and performance. Profile “N” logos help introduce some contrast to the otherwise tonal upper makeovers, as do the “1906R” logos at the lateral heel. Underfoot, the next set of options from the New England institution also boast the 860v2’s sole unit, borrowing yet another component from the aforementioned New Balance 2002R. Together, each detail on the unreleased quartet helps the “Refined Future” aesthetic further cement itself within the sneaker space.
Enjoy product shots of the upcoming offerings ahead, as you wait for an official newbalance.com launch date in the first-half of 2023. Select retailers like END. are set to drop pairs as early as Friday, December 23rd.
