Near synonymous with the designer himself, Maison Margiela‘s Tabi Boot is an iconic albeit controversial piece of fashion, somehow beloved and ridiculed for the very same reason. And while much of sneaker culture doesn’t quite understand the split toe’s appeal, it continues to appear across sneakers in and outside of the atelier’s collaborative work with Reebok.
Following their last joint effort — a set of TZ Pumps made in honor of the Pump Omni Zone II’s 22nd anniversary — Maison Margiela and Reebok are bringing back the Classic Leather Tabi, this time in two nylon-constructed colorways. Prepared in white as well as black, the model incorporates the label’s signature jika-tabi influences as well as their numeric branding. The construction, however, is much more faithful to the original sneaker, though parts were rebuilt to accommodate the split toe.
The Maison Margiela x Reebok Classic Leather Tabi Nylon will be available beginning December 9th via Reebok.com.
