There hasn’t been a silhouette that’s celebrated its anniversary quite like the Nike Air Force 1 as a slew of retooled propositions make their way to shelves each week. Few however, feel as at home as when Bruce Kilgore’s iconic 1982 construction takes on a warm neutral toned aesthetic as the latter is being harkened for the Air Force 1’s latest “Mocha” offering.
Centered around a matte “Sail” leather base that additionally renders along the ballistic mesh tongue, the front half of the silhouette indulges in a contrasting jet-black treatment ensuing along its mudguard, laces and quarter overlay. The latter half instead employs its namesakes hues as a chocolate brown coats the soft nubuck of the heel counter whereas its rough suede Swooshes and both the heel and tongues canvas tabs proffer lightened wheat tones. Amidst the aforementioned sections, stark contrasts conclude with black embroidered branding in tandem with a color-matched tread and crisp white sole unit.
