Over the past several decades, the Air Jordan line has struck a healthy balance between heritage and experimental designs. Recently, it’s outfitted the oft-ridiculed Air Jordan 1 Mid in a tiki leaf-inspired ensemble.
Reminiscent of a previously-seen Jordan Delta 3 Low, the upcoming retro indulges in a vibrant arrangement that features embroidered leaf shapes throughout the heel and collar area. Suede and leather construction appear from the forefoot to the mid-foot, with profile swooshes abandoning their traditional construction in favor of a stitched build that falls in line with some of the brand’s celebratory makeups. Lastly, midsoles indulge in an “aged” aesthetic that give the modern Air Jordan 1 vintage flair.
Enjoy official images of the pair ahead, and expect a Nike.com launch March 2023.
In related sneaker news, the Nike Air Max line continues to celebrate its 35th anniversary.
