Jared Ebanks Known as one of the largest HBCU’s in the nation and additionally as the subject of track Track 8 on Drake’s Certified Lover Boy, NIKE Inc. is tapping Tennessee State University for its next iteration of their Yard Runners Nike Dunk propositions which pay homage to the longstanding history of the country’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
After employing the color palette of FAMU, Clark Atlanta and Carolina A&T unto its low-top, the silhouette now centers itself around a smooth black leather base while opposing “Royal” and Crimson hues jump back and forth across the overlays of the mudguard, quarter and heel. White Swooshes, laces and the midsole opt for a crisp white hue in contrast throughout while the final sampling from the tonal spectrum introduces itself along the tongue and heel tabs in seldom Mustard Yellow offerings. From the schools Tiger insignia and embroidered “1912” heel tab to their students “Think Work Serve” mantra and “TIGER PRIDE” branded insoles adorned with subsequent tiger stripes, the model is finished by various embellishments tied to the Universities historic heritage in conclusion.
