Two Basketball Icons Merge On The Nike Air Force 1 “Command Force”

Over the course of its 40 year history, the Nike Air Force 1 has made references to dozens of other products from the Swoosh. Recently, Bruce Kilgore’s iconic design emerged in a color combination and theme drawing inspiration from the Air Command Force from 1991.

Co-signed by David Robinson during the early ’90s, the shoe featured the brand’s inflatable Air-Fit technology, which offered a more secure fit for hoopers and lifestyle consumers every time the model has released. By comparison, the newly-surfaced take on Kilgore’s creation from ’82 features a medley of patriotic tones across its traditional build, with reworked “FORCE” and “NIKE” branding on the top of the tongue, sock-liner and upper heel overlay. Sole units underfoot take on a yellowed arrangement that harkens back to both models’ past.

Enjoy official images of the pair ahead, and anticipate a Nike.com launch soon.
