The New Balance 991 is no longer celebrating a milestone anniversary, but it isn’t quite ready to return to the shadows, appearing in refreshing styles over the last nine months.
Recently, the silhouette, which debuted in 2001, emerged in a greyscale ensemble complete with teal, pink and yellow accents. Premium pig suede appears via overlays throughout the upper (as usual), but the aforementioned greenish tone animates grid-patterned nylon base layers visible across the pair’s top-half. Profile “N” logos follow suit, with hairy panels around the heel injecting further personality into the New Balance proposition. Underfoot, the game-changing ABZORB cushioning boasts some of the eye-catching rose-colored flair from up-top for a color combination that flirts with summer.
Enjoy campaign imagery of the pair ahead, courtesy of 43einhalb, and anticipate an overseas launch on Thursday, September 15th, for approximately $230 USD.
